What is psoriasis?
It is a skin condition that causes red scaly patches to form on the skin and it most commonly occurs on the knees, elbows, and scalp. Nevertheless, it can also occur in other areas of the body. Most people do not experience itchiness, but when it occurs in the folds of the skin it can be itchy. The problems which arise from these red patches are the shedding of the scales and the fact that it shows up on areas that can be seen. The excessive growth of skin causes psoriasis. Skin normally regenerates each month, but for those who have psoriasis, it regenerates every three to four days, thus causing the extra skin to be shed as scales.
