Founded by two young South Africans, be.bare was born out of a desire to empower others & equally ourselves to make greener, more ethically-minded choices in our daily personal care regimes. Starting with the launch of our innovative haircare bars, we’ve set our sights on ridding the modern bathroom of the scourge of single-use plastic to minimise the catastrophic impact this material is wreaking on our planet. We are firm believers in the idea that business should be a force for good in society, and particularly that companies should be conscious of & accountable for the full lifecycle of the products & packaging they put out into the world. Holding ourselves to high environmental standards hasn’t made our journey easy, but we definitely believe it’s worth it & wouldn’t have it any other way. When you ditch the bottle & switch to solid haircare, you’re not only reducing your plastic footprint but also helping to save our most precious resource. Water is life, and with the increasing scarcity of this liquid gold posing a threat to many parts of the world, it doesn’t make sense for it to comprise as much as 90% of the average bottled shampoo & conditioner when water is already available in your shower. To avoid this wastage, changing the status quo of haircare from bottled liquids to solid bars is a vision we plan to make a reality. We are proud to say that our formulas naturally do not contain any water as an ingredient (nor does it form any part of our manufacturing process) & we aim to keep it that way for all be.bare products to come. We don’t add the water, you do!
